The national cycle route 81 is close by, and within a five-minute drive lies Nesscliffe Hills and the Cliffe Countryside Heritage Site. Home to a 70-hectare area of mixed woodland and heathland to explore; that’s about the size of 140 football pitches! There is a wealth of historical features and wildlife on the site and an extensive network of paths to explore. Ten miles away is Shrewsbury, full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat, the café culture, farmer’s market, the castle and the churches that dominate Shrewsbury’s famous skyline are a must see. Oswestry, where Shropshire meets Wales and only 11 miles away. It’s an ancient Shropshire market town, so close to Wales that you can enjoy exploring both sides of the border. Beautiful barn with lots of homely extras including a huge chocolate cake on arrival plus a basket with blanket, towel and bowl for the dog. Spotlessly clean. Bed was so comfy. Haven't slept that well in ages! Hot tub was lovely with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Well worth a visit if you're looking for a luxury rural retreat.
