Guests say

Guests generally enjoy the tranquil setting and cosy lodges, with private hot tubs and modern bathrooms adding to the comfort. The location is convenient for local attractions and walks, and the lodges are well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall experiences are positive.

The lodges are frequently described as clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about specific cleanliness issues such as a dirty oven rack and a slight smell in one of the bedrooms. These appear to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is praised for its proximity to local attractions and ease of access to nearby towns and castles. While some guests mention noise from a nearby road, the overall sentiment is that the location is convenient and pleasant.

Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the lodges cosy. The addition of private hot tubs and spacious rooms contributes to a relaxing experience. A few comments about wobbly chairs and a lack of kitchen utensils do not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

Facilities are generally good, with modern bathrooms, a coffee machine, and a dishwasher mentioned. However, some guests noted a lack of kitchen items and a small ice box instead of a full freezer. Maintenance issues like flickering fridge lights and wobbly chairs suggest room for improvement.

While guests mention thoughtful touches like board games and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival, there are not enough references to consistently assess the thoughtfulness of the hosts. As such, while appreciated, these gestures cannot be guaranteed for future guests.

Lovely enjoyable stay! But more kitchen equipment required! New baking trays/glasses/cheese grater/mugs, white mugs already there weren’t very nice!! Says coffee machine but didn’t say pods required for it

Description for these lodges is "surrounded by tranquillity" but they are in fact next to a noisy road so be aware! Our lodge needed a little TLC - for example . . . flickering light in fridge, dining chairs a bit wobbly and oven rack was very dirty. However, we still did really enjoy our stay. Location is great for Chirk Castle, Erdigg, Llangollen, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Wrexham - all within 15-20 mins max. The towpath that leads to the aqueduct is a 3 min walk from the lodge as is the pub and Dobbies garden centre is about 5 mins. So great location for plenty to do without loads of driving.
