About this property

Bishop's Castle 6.8 miles. Tucked away on the outskirts of Bishop’s Castle, a quaint market town set in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies this delightful four-bedroom property, England Shelve Farmhouse. Perfect for families or friends sharing. This charming house is surrounded by exceptional countryside views and offers everything you need for a self-catered stay. Inside, be sure to make full use of the well-appointed kitchen/diner, where tasty meals can be rustled up to be enjoyed around the dining table. The plush sofas in the sitting room make an ideal place to gather as you watch a film on the Smart TV by the woodburner. As the evening grows darker, retreat to one of four tastefully-presented bedrooms, each complete with their own en-suite bath or shower room, ideal locations to refresh and rejuvenate after a long day of exploring. If you fancy getting to know your local area, take a short car journey to the nearby Bishops Castle where you can enjoy some pub fare at the Three Tuns Inn which has its own brewery, the oldest in the country. Montgomery and Welshpool are accessible by car, where you can find magnificent Powys Castle Gardens and the Ffridd Faldwyn Iron Age Hillfort - a perfect day out for history buffs. Another fantastic day out can be spent in Ironbridge, where there are 4 museums to be visited, one of which being Blists Hill Victorian Village which is perfect for all the family. The county town of Shrewsbury is also close by, where visitors can find all attractions from eateries of all types, interesting small shops, take a historical trip on the river from the Welsh bridge to the English bridge, go to the theatre or visit the Prison and Castle. Further afield, you can find historical Ludlow with its market and Castle, Church Stretton under The Long Mynd with its famous bric-a-brac and antique shop and golf course with some of the most amazing views in England. Enjoy all of this during a stay at England Shelve Farmhouse.

The South West Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surround the charming market town of Bishop's Castle. The historic town has a weekly market as well as a wide selection of stores, bars, and restaurants. It is well-known for hosting regular festivals and fairs, including Party in the Park and the immensely well-liked Michaelmas Fair, as well as the yearly Real Ale Festival and Tandem Triathlon. The town is conveniently located for travelling by foot through the Welsh Marches, rural Shropshire, and North Herefordshire, as well as nearby Montgomery, Ludlow, and Shrewsbury, three fascinating and well-known towns. Many surrounding attractions, such as Powis Castle, the Severn Valley Railway, and hikes along Offa's Dyke and The Shropshire Way, are also available for your enjoyment.
