I don't know how often cottages.com inspect the cottages on their site but we found this property to be a little run down, exterior and interior. The heating was not on and no fuel for the log burner. When we asked the owner we were advised they had turned the heating off during the unusually hot weather the previous week. He seemed reluctant to turn it back on, which he did, but this involved him moving a wardrobe they had put in front of the boiler to stop access to it. Luckily we were not using the wardrobe. He did not want to supply fuel for the log burner. I appreciate that owners do not always supply welcome packs but I expected there to be a spare toilet roll. The bathroom needs some work. Despite this having a lovely view we would not visit again.

Mr and Mrs Jenkins were lovely hosts, greeting us upon arrival. The cottage is located where you can find clear views of River Wye, close to canoe + kayaking facilities, as well as other outdoor activities and access to stunning public footpaths. The cottage was a perfect retreat after a long day cycling or canoeing, warm and comfortable. A perfect stay for a nature-based adventure!
