After a warm welome from the owner we were delighted to find a beautiful cottage set in an historic picturesque villiage We had a lovely week exploring the surrounding area, ,visiting NT properties and enjoying lovely walks. The cottage is spotless and well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious and have lots of room for travel cots etc. The heating was set butcould be over-ridden so we were always comforably warm Leominster is close with a Morrisons around 4 miles away The only negatives I could find were that we would have appreciated a little more cutlery and i found the bed in the twin room a little too firm for my comfort However i would recomend this lovely cottage and hope to visit again in the future

The Stables is a detached unit in the grounds of the old vicarage in Eardisland. We visited in March when the frost was thick and heavy, but the gas central heating was toasty-warm.The kitchen is well equipped and has a fridge under the work-surface and a freezer in the attached garage (a pool/snooker table is also in the garage). The kitchen cupboards are full of all the kit you need for your stay. The only tiny criticism being that there is little room left to put any food shopping. We tended to leave it on the worksurface in the utility room. There are two showers, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both deliver a strong blast of hot water, so were a joy to use.The village has two pubs. We ate and drank at the White Swan where they serve beer brewed on the premises as well as a good selection of the usual brands and is frequented by most of the villagers. The Cross tries to be a bit trendier with prices to match. There is a bus service to Leominster on a circular route. This takes in the villages of Pembridge (nice cafe and unique church clock tower) and Shobdon. (Shobdon has a very active aerodrome where the cafe serves breafast and lunches all day). All in all, a lovely week away in a lovely village and a comfy cottage.
