About this property

Escape to rural Suffolk in this delightful barn conversion just 5 miles from the heritage coast. Sleeping four guests, the property is perfect for couples and small families seeking a peaceful retreat close to both coast and countryside. The bustling market town of Beccles is 7.5 miles away and the seaside resort of Southwold with its sandy beach, pier, and traditional arcades is 5.5 miles away.

The detached property is screened off from the owner’s house, ensuring peace and privacy during your stay. The converted barn boasts original features, such as exposed beams, and has a sociable, open-plan layout. The hub of the home is a bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner, with dual-aspect windows looking out on the rural surroundings. Spend time here, creating tasty dishes in the kitchen using fresh ingredients from the grounds and dining together at the farmhouse-style dining table. After dinner, sink into one of the comfortable sofas to warm your toes by the wood burner and catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. A family bathroom with an indulgent roll-top bath completes this floor. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find two inviting bedrooms set under the eaves. Outside, unwind in the spacious garden, which has furniture and a BBQ for outdoor dining.

The tiny village of Uggeshall is a paradise for walkers, with several waymarked, circular walks taking you through the stunning Suffolk countryside. You’ll also find many routes along the quiet, country lanes that branch away from the village. The historic market town of Beccles has a great range of independent shops and eateries lining its picturesque, narrow streets. Set on the River Waveney, at the southern tip of the Norfolk Broads, it’s also a great place for waterside strolls and boat trips.
