Walberswick is one of Suffolk’s most sought-after villages, with its pretty pastel cottages, charming shops, and unspoilt beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An air of nostalgia is always present with popular past times including crabbing along the bridges and creeks, building sandcastles on the shore, and taking the rowing boat ferry across to Southwold. Fabulous food can be relished in with two pubs, a delectable deli selling the perfect picnic items, a tearoom and a convenience store. All are within easy reach and less than 0.2 miles from the cottage. Across the river you will reach Southwold Harbour where there are multiple restaurants all serving freshly caught seafood and a must for your stay. Head into Southwold on foot along the beach (1 mile) or by car (8 miles) and explore the array of independent shops and visit the pier with its eccentric amusements.
Many original features take pride of place in this delightful holiday home with exposed brick walls, genuine red tile floors and sash cord bay windows. All your modern-day creature comforts have been thought of, too, with a contemporary kitchen, modern bathroom and scandi inspired interior. The ground floor is an open plan space with dual aspect windows allowing the light to pour in. At the centre of this room is the large wooden dining table, where great food and conversation can be enjoyed. To the front of the cottage is the warm and welcoming living room, which boasts a Smart TV, roaring wood burner and comfortable sofas. Sit back and relax in this calm and cosy space watching the world go by from the bay window. The kitchen looks over the garden and is small yet perfectly formed with all appliances for your self-catering stay. There is also a handy cloakroom and utility space fitted with washer and dryer on this floor, too. Both bedrooms are on the first floor, along with the shared family bathroom. To the rear of the property is the double bedroom which has lovely views across the garden whilst the second bedroom with a king-size bed is at the front.
The luscious garden is abundant with plants and flowers and a real treat to see in the spring and summer. It is also enclosed so pets are very welcome for the holiday, too. This outside space captures the Suffolk sunshine in the morning and makes this an ideal spot to have breakfast. As the day goes on, lazy lunches, delicious dinners or a bbq can be enjoyed al fresco, too.
