Guests say

The Cart Shed in Saxmundham offers a peaceful countryside retreat with stunning views and proximity to Suffolk's coastal gems. Guests appreciate the immaculate cleanliness, well-equipped facilities, and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. The property is ideal for nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity, with easy access to local beaches and pubs.

Most guests report the cottage as very clean and well-maintained, with one exception mentioning the need to clean upon arrival. The positive remarks on cleanliness, including the attention to detail in cupboards and ovens, suggest high standards.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, rural views, and proximity to nature reserves, the sea, and local attractions. It's noted as being ideal for walking and exploring the Suffolk coastline, although transport is recommended.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning the cosy woodburner, comfortable sofa, and overall homeliness. However, one guest noted the master bedroom mattress was quite hard, slightly impacting the comfort score.

The property is described as well-equipped with a games room, DVD library, and utility room. However, one review cited poor maintenance and outdated magazines, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Several guests mention thoughtful gestures such as a welcome pack with wine and biscuits, which adds a personal touch to their stay. While these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every visit.

Our second stay at the Cart Shed. It is a very comfortable place (fab sofa) for a peaceful break. There are so many lovely places nearby. We enjoyed wonderful walks and delicious meals at local pubs. Highly recommend having a meal at The Unruly Pig. Communication with Robin was excellent. We have booked again for next year and we’re looking forward to our return.

Confortable single storey farm building conversion, perfect for 2-3, in a quiet rural setting with lovely rural views. Very well placed for walks to explore the stunning local countryside, heath and coast. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay, including a welcome pack of biscuits and wine, and useful information about the accommodation and the local area. The wood burning stove was a bonus for cosy evenings. Delighted to spot impressive starling murmurations and deer roaming the fields from the window. Thankyou! We hope to return!

We had a lovely stay at the cottage last weekend. The place was very clean and well maintained, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We really appreciated the plentiful firewood—it made the evenings especially cozy—and the sofa was very comfortable and perfect for relaxing. The location is great, with easy access to nearby beaches and some lovely pubs; we highly recommend The Fox Inn. There’s also a bakery just a short walk down the lane, which was especially charming in the snow. The only downside was the master bedroom mattress, which was quite hard, so we didn’t sleep as well as we’d hoped. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with just a small comfort issue.
