A charming little cottage settled into the hamlet of Friston, near Snape, The Forge was originally the village forge and is home to many historic features, making it a great hideaway for a couple or family of three on the edge of Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Park off-road and unpack into a traditional cottage with historic features including roof beams and exposed brickwork throughout, adding character. Within the property you will find an amply fitted kitchen ideal for cooking up a storm, and a dining area, as well as a sitting room with a TV, ideal for a film night, and a sunroom opening up onto the courtyard, great for alfresco dining, via patio doors and allowing in the countryside air. Take a soak in the bath before settling down into either a single or a double bedroom. Friston is a lovely little hamlet with its own local pub within walking distance of the property. In the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, on the banks of the River Alde, sits the charming village of Snape. Three pubs and a village shop can be found in Snape, which all offer delicious food that is locally produced. Snape Maltings, a major tourist attraction on the Suffolk Coast with a number of gift shops and small enterprises providing a variety of cuisine, art, and crafts, is located just outside the settlement. The Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the site of the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which was established by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears in 1948, is also located there, along with a cafe, tea room, and bar. The market town of Woodbridge, which boasts a large range of stores, pubs, cafés, and restaurants, is only 10 miles from Snape. Everything worked (tv, heating etc). It suited us - a couple, with 2 small dogs. The garden is fenced in and they couldn't run away. The door key being accessed by a 4 digit code was vital, as the owner couldn't be there because of flooding of roads. The pub just across the road was friendly and lively. We went to Dunwich heath, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Sutton Hoo, Snape maltings, and Orford castle and had a lovely time.

I loved the location, nice and near to Aldeburgh beach and a great pub opposite too. Good heating and plenty of hot water

The floor boards upstairs were SO squeaky that moving around was painful! I fact as we are both of a certain age that we need to get up in the night, we manage to wake each other when we had to go to the toilet!! So my husband even recorded how noisy it was. Also bathroom bin not emptied, baby socks in draw in the bedroom, and dirty tea towels left on the kitchen worktop.
