This charming, period cottage sits in the coastal village of Aldeburgh, close to the beach, and just north of the River Alde. Hidden Cottage is a beautiful home, small but perfectly formed, welcoming couples looking to get away from it all. Internally, the property has been wonderfully renovated; the charming sitting room is full of character and has decorative features such as the original stove showing how the cottage used to be, original brick floor and a plush sofa. Step into the kitchen, with its hand-made wooden kitchen units, a cooker with gas hob and electric oven, fridge, microwave and a dishwasher, sure to assist you throughout your stay. There is also a small table and chairs so you can enjoy meals in the comfort of your holiday home, and patio doors leading to a spacious garden patio, a rarity for a cottage of this type! Climb a steep narrow staircase to reach the first floor, offering a delightful bedroom with king-size bed and memory foam mattress, plus a wonderful sash window looking towards the Aldeburgh marshes. Just a short walk away lies the sand and shingle Aldeburgh Beach, packed by a promenade and pretty pastel-coloured villas, here you can meander along the seafront with a portion of fish and chips in hand, marvelling at the fine coastal vistas. Aldeburgh has an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants where you can enjoy a fine meal, before popping into one of the many delis or cafés to enjoy an ice cream, or if you’re visiting in September, you might catch the famous Food & Drink Festival and pick up some fine, local produce. The area is rich in culture with Snape Maltings and its world-famous concert hall just a few miles up the road you can enjoy concerts and events throughout the year. Head into the neighbouring village of Thorpeness with its boating lake, perfect for whiling away the hours on a canoe, or follow in the footsteps of Benjamin Britten and visit The Red House, which was once the home to the iconic composer. A charming getaway to a wonderful part of Suffolk.
Aldeburgh is a popular, vibrant seaside town known for its culture, traditional vibe, and one of the country's top fish and chip restaurants! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world's most prestigious music festivals and have been designated one of Britain's top 50 places to live.
