More attention to detail would be good. Burnt Cottage lacked much attention to detail. Furniture was basic and there was no welcoming factor. We called to check the sofa bed would have linen only to be told it was broken (luckily we called). We did bring our own blow up bed. We very much enjoy weekends away for family gatherings and just the two of us butI would not recommend Burnt Cottage in comparison to other properties we have stayed in.I am happy to give further feedback.Best regards DianeDiane ‐ 3 Oct 2016
Lovely cottage just outside Ipswich. Loads of room and our party of 7 had lots of space. Very quiet location and the children were able to run around the large garden with no worries. We all loved the fact that there was hardly a straight wall in the property as this just added to the charm of the cottage. We would definitely stay here again.Brian ‐ 8 Apr 2016
Great place. Excellent value.Confirmed guest ‐ 29 Jan 2016
The cottage needs some attention to its exterior paintwork but overall is very pleasant on the eye. We were disappointed by the old fashioned, not fully working TV provided. For £100 a far more modern superior TV could have been provided - a fraction of the weekly rental cost. The lack of towels was also a bit of a let down. On the colder days the central heating struggled a bit, but the multifuel burner in the main lounge more than compensated for this. We were grateful for the supply of logs provided outside. The cottage is half a mile or so along a partly private road with other nice properties nearby. The garden at the back is quite extensive and there is plenty of parking room at the front. The main lounge is very attractive, and the kitchen a good size. A quiet place to stay and relax. It would have been nice to see a welcome pack and maybe a history of the property which is after all grade II listed.Barry ‐ 4 Jan 2016
It was a lovely cottage, just with children an extra t.v or 2 would be good and Wi-Fi. Also the welcome and information booklet is rather dated.Paul ‐ 28 Dec 2015
This is a beautiful half-timbered property in a location that is rural and yet maintains easy access to a town with provisions (10 min drive). The place was kept clean and the atmosphere was great. My only criticism is that most cottages I have stayed in, particularly those that cost as much as this, provide more "starter" goods like some milk, bread, cooking oil etc. and also things like dishwasher tablets and bin bags (if you expect us to keep the place clean then it's worth providing those). It's also written in small print on the last page of the briefing document that guests need to bring towels, which I have never had to do before. Providing these would not be an enormous inconvenience! A little more attention to stuff like this would have made it easier to justify the price.Confirmed guest ‐ 28 Sep 2015
thought the cottage was lovely. We had seven stay (4 adults & 3 kids). There was more than enough room for us all. The kitchen had new applainces and everything we needed. the bed linning was a bit old but that was really the only fault we could find. We would highly reccommend this cottage.stephen ‐ 31 Aug 2015
Needs updating of cutlery and other small things like lighting.V ‐ 28 Aug 2015
The advert stated that part of the cottage was unsuitable for young children. The entire ground floor was quite unsuitable as it had steps all around the main living areas. A little dusty in places. There was no welcome pack and things to do brochures were well out of date. The appliances were dated and could do with updating. It just needed a bit of tlc.Anthony
A total of 11 different members of our extended family stayed at the cottage during some part of the week and all were charmed by the accommodation. The space inside and out, the views, the orchard, the quiet lanes for cycling and the neighbour’s horses were all much appreciated. Aug 2011.Previous guest

A really charming and lovely cottage, which had loads of character. The outside grounds were really good too. The rolling countryside scenery was lovely as well. We all had a wonderful stay and enjoyed a really warm mid-October weekend. Oct 2008.Previous guest
