! Had everything we needed and more. Enjoyed a really lovely weekend with friends catching up, this place was perfect. So much attention to detail, plenty of bathrooms and living space. Loved the cake and biscuits on arrival.

It has general amenities such as washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, tea towels, cooking utensils etc. There are also robes provided, though this isn’t listed on the site. I note this information because Sykes Cottages were largely unresponsive when I reached out to them, and when they finally came back to me (when we were already there!) they still couldn’t answer as to what was provided. The owners however were incredibly helpful and a delight to speak to (when Sykes Cottages didn’t respond I found the number for the owners online) They were happy to answer questions and provided us with additional info (and a yummy cake!) Top tip: phone them vs messaging (we didn’t get a response to messages) The barn was spotless and the beds really comfy. We took our own blankets in case it was cold, but there was really no need; not only was it plenty warm enough, but there are loads of blankets around the place too. Contrary to other reviews, the hot tub was hot and ready for our arrival; no complaints there. There is an honesty box on the window sill for firewood (£5/bag - stored in the courtyard) which was really convenient vs having to go off and find your own. The courtyard is completely enclosed so your pooch can roam free. We also took a long training type lead to use in the garden - this isn’t enclosed so it gave us peace of mind. All in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend. It’s just a shame that Sykes Cottages let the side down.
