Situated in the heart of the charming village of Brome in North Suffolk is The Old Forge. This pretty cottage is very well presented throughout offering its guests all they could need for a self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. The cottage is accessed down a shared driveway set back from the main street in the village. There are also two private parking spaces which is very handy for larger groups. The cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends looking for somewhere to base themselves whilst out and about exploring all that this wonderful county has to offer. On the ground floor there is a lovely sitting room with comfortable seating for everyone, a fully equipped kitchen diner catering to all your cooking needs. There is also a handy ground floor bedroom which is perfect for those less mobile. The family bathroom is also located on the ground floor. On the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, one king bedroom and one twin bedroom. The private rear garden offers guests the perfect space for a summertime barbeque or alfresco dining. Shop: 3 miles Pub: 0.9 miles (The Oaksmere Hotel). For pubs in Eye it 3 miles.

Entrance Hall: Which leads through to the back door providing access to the rear garden.

Sitting Room: TV, DVD player. Please note there are three steps down to the sitting room from the hallway.

Kitchen: Electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave, dining table and chairs for up to six guests.

Bathroom: Bath with over bath shower, heated towel rail, washbasin and wc.

Garden: There is a private rear garden mainly laid to lawn with a small patio area complete with garden furniture and barbeque.

Notes: Wifi and towels are provided.  Please note the rear garden is accessed across a small path which is the neighbouring property’s right of way. Also, at the front of the cottage there is a small pond so children must be supervised at all times. 

The small village of Brome is located between the charming market town of Eye and the larger town of Diss. This pretty village has a mix of timber framed cottages as well as more modern properties. With the Oaksmere Hotel offering a beautiful venue for a refreshing drink after a long walk in the countryside, or for somewhere special to go for a evening meal. The nearby historic market town of Diss, with coffee shops, restaurants and pubs overlooking the pretty lake, are within approximately ten minutes by car. Eye and Framlingham are both Suffolk towns with a historic castle to visit, they are also home to many independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Thornham Walks, with 12 miles of woodland walks around an historic estate are within a few miles and there are many beautiful lanes and sites to explore by bicycle too. The Suffolk coast including communities of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the Norfolk Broads, Ipswich with river cruises on offer, and the cathedral cities and towns of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds bustling with history and fine restaurants, are all easily accessible for day trips.
