About this property

A spectacular Grade I listed retreat in the heart of medieval Lavenham. Complete with inglenook fireplace and ancient wooden beams, this historic property is oozing in period charm and splendour and sleeps up to four guests in two well-appointed bedrooms.

The Tryst is a beautiful example of traditional mid 15th century timber-frame architecture and retains a number of period features including Tudor nooks, wattle and daub walls and stunning oak floors. The kitchen has fitted wooden cabinets with a butler's sink and an impressive AGA. There is a farmhouse-style breakfast dining table with seating for up to four guests and with the kitchen overlooking the beautiful knot garden, it makes for a most enjoyable space to cook and dine in. In addition, there is a further formal dining room with seating for up to six guests. The walls of the sitting room are clad with antique wood panels and the inglenook fireplace with limestone jabs is truly magnificent. After a long day of exploring, why not kick back and relax on one of the comfy sofas and enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire as you enjoy a blockbuster or two on the 32" Smart television. Both bedrooms are located on the first floor sharing the family bathroom which has a luxurious free-standing bath, an additional shower room can also be found on the ground floor of the property.

Outside is a private knot walled garden with an array of flowers and greenery and interlinking paths connecting the sun terrace with outdoor dining furniture and a metal bower with vines creating a romantic spot for enjoying an evening meal.

Lavenham is considered to be one of Britain's best preserved medieval villages with over 300 listed buildings, making it a most interesting place to enjoy a break and explore. For guests seeking some sea air, the Suffolk Coast can be reached by car in less than an hour.
