Positioned near the village green and surrounded by other charming properties, Pear Tree Cottage is set in the village of East Knoyle within the Cranborne Chase AONB. Relax within the charming living room/diner, which retains a quaint and traditional-style with a large feature fireplace. Gather around the vintage-style dining table for a family board game, or simply discuss what’s going to come next on this Wiltshire adventure. Prepare a meal within the lovely, modest kitchen, complete with a Belfast sink and stable-style door, it is a classic country cottage-style but home to excellent contemporary appliances. Sit out with a refreshing drink in the front garden, and take in the picture-perfect exterior of Pear Tree Cottage. There is also a traditional red telephone box opposite the cottage which has been converted into a mini library with lots of books to choose from. Rest in one of the two bedrooms, either a double or a single room, both with pretty furnishings, white walls and showcasing charming features like exposed beams in the ceiling. Freshen up in the beautifully fitted bathroom with a bath and shower over. Practically next door and serving excellent food and drink is the dog friendly Fox and Hound Pub, so if you don’t fancy cooking in the evening you can indulge in a night off and a few drinks. Pick up all you need to rustle up some home-cooked meals for your self-catered stay, there is a village store a short walk from the cottage with a wide selection of goods as well as a post office. Cranborne Chase AONB, is an area has recently been designated an international dark sky reserve. Directly from the cottage you can access a number of dog walks, cycling routes and historical sites nearby, including Old Wardour Castle, run by English Heritage, it was built in the 14th century and is a magnificent thing to behold set in the quiet Wiltshire countryside by a lake. A five minute walk will take you to the windmill green and its fabulous views across the Blackmore Vale, or why not venture further afield to the old Saxon town of Shaftesbury which is steeped in history and is home the the the cobbled ‘Gold Hill’ where the Hovis adverts were filmed. Stourhead House and Gardens run by the National Trust is also a must visit. Pear Tree Cottage is a delightful property, ideal for a lovely break in this AONB with your loved ones.
East Knoyle is a village set within the county of Wiltshire, just within the borders of the Cranborn Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Home to a village store, Wrens Shop & Post Office and The Fox and Hounds pub, you have all you need for your self-catered stay. The East Knoyle Windmill, originally built in the 18th century, still stands and offers a unique landmark for this quaint village.
