Warm and welcoming in a great position. There were 2 concerns, parking is very tight we resorted to parking on the road. if you have slightly iffy knees there is no where to sit other than a metal framed chair, The sofas are so soft you actually cannot get up! A single armchair in place of the metal framed chair would really be useful otherwise well equipped has everything you need and much more besides. Owner left supplies for us and our dog

The cottage was warm and welcoming upon arrival with timed heating and lighting so it felt immediately cosy. The property was completely spotless with lots of thoughtful touches left for guests - including a super cute Christmas stocking for my dog. There is such tremendous thought and attention to detail put in to the cottage - it may have been built in the 16th century but the amenities are definitely 21st century and the highest quality. The beds were super comfortable, and no expense has been spared with the soft furnishings. Yes - the stairs are narrow and the ceilings are low but that’s all in the property description - it wasn’t a problem for me as I’m only 5’2! It’s also very well equipped for staying with your dog and there are lots of lovely walks right in the doorstep (take your wellies in winter!). There really is everything you could possibly need for a lovely holiday in The Winterbournes. Thank you for a smashing stay!

To be kind it could be termed "quirky", but certainly not comfortable. There were no curtains to stop the continuous car lights from the road and to sit down on a sofa that was no more than a foot high meant serious problems getting up or sitting back. The stairs were in my opinion dangerous and almost required a parachute to get down. The tv had to be re-set to watch terrestrial channels and the lights were a case of hit or miss whether they worked by the chosen "Alexa" commands or not. It was a struggle to get into the double bed as the angle of the wall was so oblique, and the garden was shared with the house next door so was never private enough to spend time in,. The quality of some of the kitchen equipment was really good so no complaints there, but overall I couldn't recommend this cottage in any way except for it's looks.
