The chicken shed dates back to the 1700s and used to be the home of chickens over many years. Lovingly converted by the owners, it has original features such as exposed beams and chicken coops. The building has been finished to create a perfect place for couples to make lasting memories.

Within a short drive are the picturesque villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, both favourite locations for TV and film directors. Lacock features in Harry Potter, Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice, and Castle Combe was the backdrop for War Horse. Experience the Georgian city of Bath only 7 miles away by car. With its famous architecture, the Jane Austen Centre, and thermal spa (Thermae), the city offers something for everybody. The Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, the famous Pulteney Bridge, and the Christmas markets are among the city’s many must see attractions. Nearby National Trust properties can be found within a short drive, as well as other stately homes. Head to Longleat Safari Park or visit Avebury and Stonehenge, all under an hour away.

Mooi huisje, gezellig ingericht. Wel een paar minpuntjes: het bed is erg smal (1.35 m) en de koelkast is mega klein (erg onhandig als je er tijdens een hittegolf bent).Prima douche, maar ook weer een heel kleine wastafel.Er is een beperkte buitenruimte, met een eigen parkeerplaats. De tuinbank is ruw, maar daar hebben wij handdoeken op gelegd. Rustige omgeving.

The Chicken Shed was clean and had great views and peaceful. However the gable window in the bedroom was an issue as its so bright early morning, there were sleeping masks provided by the owners. There is only a bar sized fridge and can barely fit anything in it unfortunately, no freezer and also only a small grill type oven and a microwave. There are inside bins provided but couldn't find any outside bins to put the waste out. Overall had a nice stay but could definitely do with a blind on the gable window and a full size fridge freezer and oven. Didn't meet the owners but they provided a good welcome sheet with information.

Lovely accommodation in very quiet village. Amenities only a short drive. Very clean. Would have liked a teapot (hate making tea in a mug) and towels could have been a little bigger. Icing on the cake would have been a foot stool - after lots of walking it would have been nice to put my feet up. Minor comments as overll we were very happy with this cosy cottage for two.
