About this property

Colerne 3.3 miles. Resting in the quiet village of Lower North Wraxall in Wiltshire lies this romantic, one-bedroom holiday home, located next to the owner's home in a Grade II-listed building. With an open-plan living space, quaint patio and plenty of character features throughout, this delightful dwelling is perfect for a couple, small family or a solo traveller to escape to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As you arrive, off-road parking greets you, before stepping into the open-plan living space where you will find everything you need for a relaxed self-catering stay. The kitchen is fit with an array of appliances, including a handy dishwasher, as well as a breakfast bar for dining and a sitting area with a TV for unwinding after a day of exploring. Upstairs, one king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room provides the ideal sleeping quarters; the character shines through in this room, with exposed beams and stone creating a unique and inviting space. Be sure to take advantage of the garden, home to a patio with furniture and a charcoal barbecue, where you can dine alfresco in the warmer months and toast to a lovely holiday. When it is time to explore, you will find a wealth of walking and cycling options on the doorstep, while pubs, restaurants and attractions can be enjoyed in the surrounding towns and villages. Chippenham is a charming town that's home to some of the area's best attractions. Start your visit at John Coles Park, which offers lovely gardens, a playground, and a duck pond. Next, head to Monkton Park, where you can enjoy a stroll through the grounds, a game of tennis, or a ride on the miniature railway. For a dose of culture, visit the Chippenham Museum, which tells the story of the town and its people. Or explore Sutton Lane Meadows, a beautiful nature reserve owned by the National Trust. Further afield is the ever-popular historic city of Bath, most famous for its Roman Baths, which are among the best-preserved Roman remains in the world. Other notable attractions include Bath Abbey, The Jane Austen Centre, and Theatre Royal. Bath is also home to several spas, most notably Thermae Bath Spa. Whatever the weather, bring your loved one to enjoy a break at The Barn.

Colerne lies in the Cotswolds aonb in west Wiltshire, near Chippenham and Bath. The village features shops, taverns, and a community hall. Corsham has a thriving weekly market and many Grade ll listed limestone structures that have been used in TV shows and films. Corsham Court is worth a visit for its art collection and Capability Brown-designed landscape. Bath, with its Georgian terraces, Roman Baths, and abbey, has something for everyone. You're spoiled for dining and shopping options. Take a short trip to Lacock or Castle Combe, England's prettiest village. Colerne is a great base for exploring the region.

Wonderfully renovated with all the modern amenities, yet it has the charm and coziness of a country home. I loved the lighting in the upstairs bedroom and along the staircase. Kim & Terry were wonderful, responsive hosts and respectful to one's privacy during the stay. The location was perfect, in the Cotswolds near Castle Combe with access to Bath, Bristol, and Stonehenge. For a peaceful, relaxing holiday, I would highly recommended this cottage!
