Snaptrip says

Blue Buoy Cottage in Brixham offers stunning views and a comfortable stay with its spacious rooms and large decks. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, location, and the thoughtful touches, despite some minor maintenance issues. The charm of the cottage and its proximity to local attractions make it a recommended choice for a delightful holiday experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property generally receives positive remarks on cleanliness, with some guests suggesting the need for a deeper clean, particularly in outdoor areas. A few guests noted specific issues like a greasy oven and dusty areas, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is highly praised for its exceptional views and proximity to the town centre. However, parking is noted as potentially challenging, especially during peak season, which slightly affects the score.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the house spacious, but some have mentioned that the beds could be more comfortable and the attic room is not suitable for all due to steep stairs. The presence of a small double bed instead of a standard size was also noted.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and clean living spaces. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as a faulty gas hob ignition, the need for better kitchen utensils, and a loose item on the roof causing noise. These issues suggest room for improvement.

While guests have mentioned the provision of items like dishwasher tabs and a welcome pack, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

About this property

Blue Buoy Cottage is a wonderful property dating back to the 1800’s and is situated in the quaint fishing port of Brixham. The accommodation is over four floors with fantastic Sea views enjoyed from each level overlooking the fish market, marina, breakwater and across the bay to Torquay.

As you enter this charming period property into the spacious sitting room you are drawn to the stunning sea views from the French doors which open up onto a decked balcony. There is also a woodburning stove making this property ideal for breaks at any time of year.

A staircase leads down to the large kitchen and dining room. A fabulous social space to sit and dine after a day out exploring the nearby Berry Head Napoleonic Forts. Bi-folding doors open up onto a large decked terrace, an ideal spot to sit and relax over a glass of wine taking in the exceptional views over this fishing port. There is also a shower room with large walk in cubicle, wc and washbasin located on this level.

The three bedrooms are located on the upper floors of the property. The main bedroom features a double bed with French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Bedroom Two has a double bed and the third bedroom is located on the top floor and has two single zip and link beds (can be made into a superking on request). Please note that this bedroom is located up a narrow staircase and has limited head height due to the sloping ceilings and therefore might not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. All the bedrooms also have TVs. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor with a bath, shower over, wc and wash hand basin.

The harbour, shops and restaurants are all within a 5 minute walk from the property. Enjoy a stroll around this wonderful fishing port and watch the trawlers heading out to sea for the days catch, explore the Golden Hind or take a walk along the South West Coast Path to St Marys Bay and Beach.

Blue Buoy Cottage provides an ideal location for you and your family to relax and enjoy your holiday within the English Riviera.

Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.

Otherwise this is the 2nd time we have been to this holiday let. The last time was 10 years ago! The extension to the downstairs and the addition of the small balcony provided even more lovely views.

La terrasse est top bien que vraiment glissante! Manque un aspirateur ou un balai. Avons passé un super séjour dans cette magnifique région

Property was lovely though, decking was dangerous when wet, but there were signs up warning of this.
