About this property

Resting in the bustling harbour town of Brixham in Devon is 8 Chestnut Drive, a two-bedroom single-storey cottage. Just a stone's throw away from local amenities and a short journey to the beach, whilst enjoying flexible sleeping arrangements, a well-equipped kitchen, and an enclosed garden with apple trees and blackberry bushes to have some fresh fruit, the cottage welcomes four guests and two well-behaved dogs, ideal for a family getaway. Park up on the private driveway before entering through the front door, reaching the study space, where you can box off any last-minute work before relaxing in the welcoming sitting room.

Head into the kitchen, where you'll find all expected appliances to ease your self-catered stay, possible to prepare delicious meals and enjoy them around the dining table located in the suntrap conservatory. If you'd prefer to dine outdoors, opt for an alfresco affair in the rear garden, fully enclosed for your furry friend, before retiring to bed, selecting between a king-size and a twin room. The cottage is complete with a spacious bathroom, where you can enjoy a soak after a day of exploring or a quick refresh in the shower ahead of your itinerary. Once you're ready to venture into the town, stop off at St Mary's Bay, perfect for joining the South West Coast Path, offering views of the stunning Devonshire waters, before hiking across Berry Head National Nature Reserve, touring Brixham Heritage Museum, or reaching Brixham Harbour Lighthouse, delivering elevated views of the coastline.

Paignton is nearby, home to a plethora of family-friendly activities, including trips to Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, strolls across Paignton Pier, dotted with seaside amusements and eateries, and Clennon Gorge, covering 60 acres of woodland walks and parkland. Complete your trip with a stop off at Torquay, with the opportunity to brush up on your local knowledge at the local museum, head up the English Riviera Wheel, or aboard Babbacombe Cliff Railway, offering the ideal vantage point across the county. Enjoy all of this and more at 8 Chestnut Drive.

On the southern end of Torbay, in the region known as The English Riviera and renowned for its consistently sunny, moderate weather, is Brixham, a working fishing port. A life-size model of Sir Francis Drake's ship, The Golden Hind, serves as the harbour’s main attraction. Small cottages are found in mountainous, winding alleyways in Brixham's finest area, which leads to the harbour where the majority of activities takes place. Brixham fish market supplies to prestigious restaurants in the UK and is home to Britain's largest fishing fleet, which routinely lands its catch in the harbour.

It was very clean, really comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner's contact number and brochures for attractions and food were in the bungalow which made the holiday so much easier. Brixham is a very good location and is very close to other beautiful places to visit. We .could have stayed another week.

The front and back gardens both need a little attention to make them more appealing.

Very expensive for the time of year in June especially on a housing estate miles from beaches also very unfriendly cottage dangerous flooring for people and dogs
