Visitors can enjoy the range of charming shops on offer in Watchet, a delightful Somerset harbour town with a nautical heritage spanning more than two millennia, as well as the opportunity to observe the boats in the marina. The West Somerset Railway, a twenty-mile stretch of restored steam railroad, runs through Watchet, and continues through breath-taking countryside for another nine miles to the coastal town of Minehead, drawing in rail enthusiasts from all around. The Quantock Hills climb to 1,000 feet above sea level near St. Audries in the east, and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west and are also easily accessible.
