About this property

Beach House is a charming coastal cottage resting in Watchet, Somerset. With beautiful sea views and nearby amenities, the cottage welcomes four guests to relish a seaside retreat with the attractions of Somerset on your doorstep. After parking on the street or at the nearby public car park, unpack your belongings and make yourself at home. Be welcomed by a pleasant living/dining room at the end of each fun-filled day, with two sofas to curl up with a good book or watch your favourite film on the TV. This is a lovely space to host family dinners around the dining table for six, all the while the woodburning stove gently warms the room on colder nights. Rustle up a hearty breakfast in the quaint kitchen/diner that boasts coastal views, equipped with electric oven, gas hob and fridge with freezer compartment, with a rustic bench and table area to savour your morning coffee. There's also a handy washing machine to throw in beach-worn clothes and sandy towels ready for the next day! As the sun sets over the coastline, climb the stairs to unwind and catch your rest; a beautiful king-size bedroom features built-in storage space and a feature fireplace, whilst you'll wake up to sea views from the twin bedroom. Freshen up in the bathroom before the day begins, whether that's a relaxing soak in the tub or a quick rinse in the shower over. Why not start your day at the rear decking area to make the most of your coastal location? A picnic bench awaits to sit and take in your tranquil surroundings, before stepping down onto the beach for a morning stroll in the fresh sea air whilst on the lookout for fossils. Watchet is a popular Somerset location with plenty of shops and eateries within easy reach for all your self-catering needs, as well as fabulous attractions including the picturesque marina and The West Somerset Railway, a steam train taking visitors through stunning countryside and coast. A walker's paradise, there are splendid paths along the coast from Watchet, whilst to the east Quantock Hills AONB offers hilltop views and rich woodlands to explore, and to the west Exmoor National Park, an expansive nature reserve home to some of the most ancient woodlands in Britain. Visit the historic village of Dunster with local landmarks such as a medieval Butter Cross, a 17th-century Yarn Market and the lavish Dunster Castle with dramatic vistas and subtropical gardens to explore. Pack your towels and take a short drive to Minehead with an expansive sandy beach to soak up the sun and paddle in the sea, take a stroll through the pretty Blenheim Gardens, whilst plenty of excitement awaits with traditional seaside attractions, such as Splash Waterworld for family-friendly pools. Journey further along the coast to Porlock, a charming coastal village with winding streets lined with shops and eateries, the perfect stop-off before adventuring further into Exmoor or trekking the outstanding Somerset coastline. Choose Beach House for a memorable seaside retreat with your loved ones.

Watchet is a charming Somerset port town, where visitors may browse the quaint shops and watch the boats in the marina. The West Somerset Railway runs through Watchet and continues through spectacular terrain to Minehead. The Quantock Hills climb to 1,000 feet above sea level towards St Audries in the east, and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west, both easily accessible. For rural beauty and stunning coastlines, this is a terrific holiday location.

We were warmly welcomed by Pearl, the owner who explained everything about the property to us. Watchet is a small village by the sea but impressive with all that is going on and wonderful transport links if you want a break from driving.. we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the property. Thank you Pearl

We had a lovely stay, the house has enough space for four persons, and the terrace with seaview was a big big plus. Also the private parking space just a few meters along the road was nice to have. Communication went very smoothly with the owner (through whatsapp and live). Would love to come back someday :)
