About this Holiday Cottage

Magnolia Cottage sleeping four is a charming property in the peaceful Porlock area within the Exmoor National Park.  Village amenities are only a short stroll away and the cottage is just a short drive from the Somerset coast and moorland.  Pretty woodland walks are direct from your door!  The cottage dates back to the 19th century and has a character rustic feel combined with all modern amenities including WiFi. 

Living Space

Accommodation is approached via a footbridge and sits in a beautiful spot next to a running stream in the Hawkcombe valley. 

The front door opens into a cosy hall area with space for hanging coats.  In the lounge you'll find comfortable sofas and chairs, plus a woodburner. 

The kitchen adjacent to the lounge (one step up) includes an Aga-style range, an electric cooker and hob, a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and toaster.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

Stairs lead up from the lounge to the first floor and two bedrooms including 1 double and 1 twin.  The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, wash basin and wc. 

Outside/ Parking

A private garden (not enclosed, but exclusively for guest use only) is available featuring a grassed garden area and a patio with a BBQ and garden furniture. 

Free on-street parking is located just by the footbridge to Magnolia Cottage.  Ample parking is available (not allocated).

Other Things to Note

Additional amenities and appliances include a hair dryer, ironing facilities and for families a high chair and stair gates.  Bed linen and towels are provided and the property has central heating. 

Sorry no dogs please and accommodation is strictly non-smoking.  The cottage is suitable for children but not for guests with restricted mobility. 

Availability

Arrival is from 4pm and departure is by 10am.  Changeover day for weekly bookings is a Saturday.  Short breaks may be available - please view the availability calendar for details.  

Around and About

Stunning Exmoor hills surround Porlock on all sides and Porlock sits at the western end of the Coleridge Way.  The pretty harbour village of Porlock Weir on the coast is only 2 miles away. 

Village amenities in Porlock include convenience stores, cafes/ tea shops and pubs.  You can also visit the Doverhay Museum and a motor museum.  Nearby attractions include Dunster Castle and you can discover more inspiration on things to do locally in a selection of brochures and leaflets in the cottage.
