With crisp, bright interiors that enjoy stunning views of surrounding woodland, and a wonderfully laid out living area with tasteful features and amenities, this studio-style cottage is a supreme choice for a couple seeking the ultimate romantic, self-catered escape to rural Somerset. Make yourself at home in your new lodgings by cooking up a storm in the kitchen, complete with a showpiece AGA cooker that will help you to rustle up hearty, home-cooked meals for your loved one, whilst a plush sitting area with a sleek, woodburning stove offers a great place to relax and unwind as you savour your culinary delights.

In warmer months, take a glass of your favourite tipple out into the courtyard, where you can make a toast to your beautiful holiday whilst you soak in the serene woodland that encompasses your new lodgings. In the evening, refresh with a restorative shower before retiring to the plush king-size bed, where you and your partner can rest-up in preparation for a brand new, exciting day. If you can tear yourself away from your idyllic sanctuary, head into to Crowcombe to enjoy a traditional pub lunch at The Carew Arms, before you head into the Quantock Hills AONB to roam the natural trails within Ramscombe Great Wood and the National Trust spot of Fyne Court.

A short drive south will bring you to the county town of Taunton, which is home to the serene grounds of Vivary Park and the educational Museum of Somerset. To the west, the Exmoor National Park is also accessible by car, where the landmarks of Landacre Bridge, Heddon Valley, and the Tarr Steps Woodland National Nature Reserve are all waiting to be enjoyed. For an unforgettable romantic getaway to Somerset, choose a stay at Quantocks Retreat.

Crowcombe is a beautiful village and civil parish that includes the hamlets of Crowcombe Heathfield, Flaxpool, Halsway, Lawford, and Triscombe. It is located in the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the Quantocks just outside your door and the Exmoor National Park nearby, this is a perfect location for a holiday outside. Crowcombe is a very beautiful area, with numerous Grade II* listed historical structures dating back to the 14th century, including the Church of the Holy Ghost and the mediaeval Church House. The Carew Arms, a delightful village shop, and the Crowcombe Village Hall are among the village's amenities. The latter offers a variety of services, including movie screenings twice a month in case it rains. The neighbourhood is filled with attractions for tourists. Taunton, for example, has beautiful architecture and a good selection of amenities, and Minehead is also close by if you'd like to spend the day at the beach. The West Somerset Railway, Hestercombe House and Gardens, Glastonbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge, and Exmoor are all within a short drive of Crowcombe.

It was such a restorative treat to spend time there while taking a workshop at nearby Halsway Manor. Couldn't recommend the place more!!

The property was very comfortable and we loved the outside space, it was perfect for sitting outside and relaxing. The field had grown into a beautiful wildflower meadow and we enjoyed walking around the garden, down to the stream and we saw lots of wildlife (including a deer on our first night). We explored the nearby Quantock hills, Taunton, Minehead, Porlock Weir and Dunster, all which were within easy reach. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. We appreciated the milk left in the fridge for us! We would definitely recommend to others and we would love to return in the future.
