No smoking. Please note: This property has a natural water supply via spring.. Welcome to The Moat House, a truly beautiful, thatched country cottage set in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
Newly renovated in 2022 in a way that is sympathetic to the age of the cottage yet packed full of modern features and your creature comforts, this cottage has it all. On the ground floor you will find the fabulous kitchen that comes extremely well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher,and electric hob, as well as everything you will need during your stay. The utility room has a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, leading off from here is the downstairs shower room with walk-in shower.
The stunning dining room has original oak panelled walls and beamed ceilings, while the living room has dual aspect windows, beams, comfy seating and electric wood burner. Upstairs you will find three spacious bedrooms, one being a twin and the other two having king sized beds, the master bedroom has wonderful views over the fields beyond. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail.
Outside you will find a glorious lawned garden with amazing countryside views to sit back and enjoy, while to the rear you will find a partially covered barn with your own hot tub and games area, it’s the perfect spot for all the family to relax and have fun!
The Moat House is set in the hamlet of Cudworth, just a few miles from both Chard and Ilminster towns, both with a mix of shops and local eateries to enjoy. The larger towns of Yeovil and Taunton are easily reached in under 30 minutes where a larger selection of shops and entertainment can be found. Several National Trust properties can be found nearby as well as country parks such as Ham Hill and Castle Neroche. Lyme Regis beach is just over 20 minutes away by car and is a great day out for all the family!

Beautiful property. Well kept and very clean. Great communications from Luke. Close to decent pubs and restaurants by car and tesco supermarket is just up the road. Only suggestion would be some sort of heating in the barn where tht hot tub area is and WiFi to reach the barn

Lovely cottage with character. Spotless and clean. Spacious, nice to have separate areas to sit in Well maintained exterior and ample outside spaceHot tub/games area , added bonus . Added radio would be nice. Someone does turn up to check the hot tub . We was in it when it happened, but it didn’t bother us. Nice welcome tray and bottle of fizz, sweetie jars were a nice treatWe struggled to find it initially as we didn’t come in from the directions given, better sign at the bottom of lane and a sign for the lane itself would be helpfulAway from other properties but there is a farmyard directly behind it, some noise from agricultural vehicles but didn’t spoil the peace too much Whilst we loved the floorboards in the two king sized bedrooms , every noise could be heard from the rooms below. So if the other couple was sat in the lounge watching tv and we was in bed , it was like being in the same room!We also found the smaller sofa not comfortable for two adults and rotated seating so we could all sit on the larger, comfier sofa. Showers were greatAll in all a lovely cottage, lovely setting. Just a few issues as mentioned.
