Surrounding Woodpecker Lodge is a peaceful private courtyard garden; enjoy the refreshing country air with a calming glass of wine to fully unwind. The nearby towns and villages of Langport, Somerton and Ashcott provide a lovely spot to base your break, Langport prides itself on being one of the smallest towns in the Uk with a fascinating history, hosting a decisive battle in the English Civil War. A finalist in 2016 Great British High Street competition, Langport boasts an thriving independent foodie scene.

The historic town of Somerton offers an ideal base to relax, enjoy lovely food, beautiful scenery and old town charm and elegant architecture. The work of local artists and crafts people is exhibited in the old Town Hall, and celebrated with the annual Summer Arts Festival in mid-July. Ashcott hosts no less than five pubs, along with its own brewery, as well as a shop. You may even want to book your break in alignment with the annual beer festival. The well-known town of Glastonbury sits just over eight miles away from the hamlet of Henley, Wells is 14 miles away; from places packed with character and well worth a day of exploration. If you fancy a day at the beach, the charming seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea is within easy reach reach as well as a variety of beaches on the north and south Devon coasts; many of which are dog-friendly.     Made to feel at home, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and even a washing machine. Ideally placed to visit so many of the Somerset must sees. Even got to go to the Bath Christmas Market Can’t recommend this cottage enough a real gem

    Everything you needed was provided for from excellent and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Well situated to visit the Somerset countryside. Highly recommended for a place to unwind.
