Highly recommend that you stay at The Firs. The accommodation is a fantastic place for 2 people. It was immaculately clean and comfortable and has every facility you could wish for in a property. We felt very spoilt by the fantastic welcome pack. Amongst lots of goodies featuring local produce there was a delicious cream tea on our arrival, mmmmm! The property is very well placed to visit many attractions, being on the Somerset/Devon border. The Candlelight Inn is a few minutes on foot from the property and although it was closed while we were there due to a change in ownership it is due to reopen shortly. So very handy for a drink or meal in a lovely country pub.We are really looking forward to our 3rd visit next April which I booked even before we got home!

The Firs Lodge was perfect for us and beautifully presented. It contained everything we needed and would definitely recommend if you want a rural retreat. There are no shops or pub in the village but we found a lovely pub, The Sidmouth Arms in Upottery, which was great for a stop off on the way back from the south coast. There are plenty of supermarkets in the local towns too.

This holiday cottage, The Firs Lodge is an excellent place to stay.It is convenient to get to off the major road, the A303. Only about a mile off that major road, and yet it is in a quiet village in the area known as the Blackdown Hills. Not far to major centres like Taunton and Wellington. The cottage is well equipped with many new appliances. Everything works and not complicated to operate either. There is a parking space provided but I parked on the road for convenience and there was always room to do so in this quiet village. Also there were places to walk my dog.A very well appointed clean and well outfitted cottage, in a quiet area. Highly recommended, as I would stay there again.
