About this property

This character cottage makes a perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the delights of Somerset and North Devon. The thriving village has good pubs, a Post Office, general store, farm shop and well known connections, once being the home to the romantic poet Coleridge and Coleridge Cottage is just further along the road to visit. There are many walks available from the door. Set in the foothills of the Quantocks and just a short drive from the South West Coast Path and Exmoor National Park, walkers and nature lovers will be in their element. You will also be close to various attractions such as Wimbleball Reservoir with its boating and fishing, West Somerset Steam Railway, Stoke Marshes Nature Reserve, Dunster Castle, Hestercombe Gardens, Cleve Abbey and Clarks Village to name but a few. You are welcomed into the delightful character accommodation through the front door where there is a useful porch to hang coats and wipe off muddy paws! You will then enter the lounge which is bursting with original features including exposed beams, flagstone flooring and an inglenook fireplace which boasts a wood burner for those cooler evenings. Here you can relax on the comfy sofas while watching your favourite programme or film on the TV/DVD, or why not watch the world go by from the charming window seat. The well equipped kitchen/diner has an electric oven and gas hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave which is perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites, it also includes a washing machine. The dining area cleverly seats four by encompassing a second original window seat. You will also find the bathroom on the ground floor which has a shower over the bath and a WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor you will find two good sized bedrooms, a king size and a twin, both with original features including a feature fireplace in the twin. Venturing outside there is a pretty enclosed courtyard which is a sun trap, with seating its a perfect place to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining with a glass of wine and a lovely space to relax and enjoy your morning coffee.
