About this property

This contemporary lodge is situated on a working livestock farm in the heart of Somerset, enjoying beautiful views across the surrounding countryside towards Glastonbury Tor. Sleeping up to four guests, it provides a peaceful rural retreat for couples, friends or small families looking to explore Somerset's historic attractions, market towns and scenic landscapes. Just 7 miles from Glastonbury, the lodge is well placed for discovering some of the county's most popular destinations. The historic city of Wells, famed for its magnificent cathedral and bustling outdoor markets, is 15 miles away, while the renowned Wookey Hole Caves are 17 miles from the property. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at Wheathill Golf Club (2 miles), which offers an 18-hole course and driving range open to visitors. Traditional country pubs, including The Quarry Inn and Cross Keys Inn, are nearby, while the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, Clarks Village shopping outlet, Harry's Cider Farm and the weekly markets of Wells, Street and Castle Cary all make excellent days out.

Designed entirely on one level, the lodge offers step-free access throughout, with a non-slip ramp leading from the parking area to the entrance. Inside, the spacious open-plan living area creates a welcoming social space, combining comfortable seating with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Large windows make the most of the countryside views, while a Bluetooth sound system, Wi-Fi and a Freeview TV with built-in DVD player provide entertainment during your stay. The kitchen includes a dishwasher and washing machine for added convenience. The property offers two comfortable bedrooms: a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room and WC, featuring grab rails for additional accessibility, and a twin bedroom that can be arranged as a super-king-size bed by prior arrangement for an additional charge. A separate family bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, a decked area stretches across the front of the lodge, furnished for outdoor dining and relaxation while enjoying the far-reaching rural views. A sunken private hot tub with a grab rail offers the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Somerset. The lodge is surrounded by lawned grounds, creating a pleasant outdoor space for guests to enjoy. Farm produce and locally made cheese are available to purchase on site, and guests may have the opportunity to join guided afternoon animal feeding sessions, subject to availability. A charcoal BBQ can be hired for an additional charge, and private parking is provided for two cars
