Half way down the steep hill there is a gateway with Charfield Meadow labelled.

Lovely barn conversion, huge bedroom and bathroom. Good facilities, but the single track road up to the location from the local village is in a terrible state, although that is not the fault of the landlords, who were extremely friendly and helpful.Terrific walking available including a lovely 4 mile walk alongside a small river, through fields to a secluded church and then onto a really good quality farm shop and restaurant, Our dog loved the holiday and we throughly enjoyed it.

The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We visited during a particularly cold period in January but the underfloor heating made the cottage very cosy. If you have a dog, the enclosed garden and use of the adjacent owner’s fields (when no livestock in them) is a welcome bonus. The cottage is located along country roads, about one mile from the village of Charfield. Unfortunately these roads are in an awful condition, which means taking extreme care when driving to and from the property. The condition of the road is a council issue and not something that the owners of the cottage can address but sadly it will probably deter us from returning to this location.
