Surrounded by unspoilt countryside on the outskirts of the village of Mitcheldean in the Forest of Dean, is this single-storey converted barn, Woods Edge. Offering a secluded retreat while still being close to the amenities of Mitcheldean, Woods Edge is perfect for couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and explore this scenic part of Gloucestershire. Stepping into this cute hideaway, you are welcomed into the open-plan living area, comprised of a sitting area with TV and electric fire, ideal for those cosy nights in on sofa, as well as a kitchenette and dining area for two where you can enjoy breakfast whilst planning for the day ahead.
The bedroom has a double bed and plenty of storage for your personal items, along with an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. To the rear of the cottage is a courtyard and a lawned garden where you can relax on a summer’s evening with a good book. Right from the doorstep there are a number of walking and cycling routes through the Forest of Dean, or stroll into Micheldean to find two pubs and a supermarket for any essentials. Visit the pretty riverside towns of Monmouth and Wye Valley for a memorable day trip, or travel further afield to the city of Gloucester and explore a range of historic attractions including two museums and the medieval Cathedral.

Nice areas to sit in when sunny and sheltered from the wind outside. Good 2 ring hob and oven and microwave.fridge and kettle Plenty of crockery and cutlery.. Really nice touches a welcome pack of milk and eggs tea and coffee and a cake. Treats during the week of croissants and a cream tea were a delight. Lovely helpful owners and huge set of information leaflets of things to do.

The cottage has all you need for a comfortable stay, and owners Pam and Geoff were welcoming and hospitable. Lots of things to fill your time in the local area or a beautiful shaded garden to relax and unwind. We thoroughly recommend woods edge for your break away.
