On the ground floor, there’s the cosy lounge, with its sofas, books and open fire, or the kitchen/diner/family room, where the jewel-bright colours of the large corner sofa entice you in to chat with the cook or watch the TV. Here there’s a light-filled dining area and a huge kitchen (up a couple of steps) with all the equipment necessary for cooking delicious meals. There’s also the snug on the first floor, where there’s another TV – the perfect place for children to chill out. The king-size bedroom is on the ground floor, as well as a shower room, while the other two bedrooms – a super-king-size which leads through to a twin – are on the first floor, sharing the family bathroom. The enclosed rear garden includes a lawn with a hammock, ideal for lazy summer days, and a series of patios (with steps between) where you’ll find a picnic table and a fire pit/BBQ.

The cottage is located in Broadwell, 1 mile north of Coleford, a picturesque market town which boasts a variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, and is home to the Great Western Railway Museum. Renowned for its ancient forests, the area is studded with walks and cycle trails, or you could hire a canoe or paddleboard to explore the River Wye.
