This cosy, pretty semi-detached cottage is a wonderful holiday base for couples and small families. The cottage has two bedrooms upstairs; a bright, spacious double bedroom with hanging space, a chest of drawers and pretty views, along with a cosy twin room. There is also a good-sized family bathroom with a feature fireplace. Downstairs is a wonderful sitting room where everyone can gather after a long day and relax around a woodburning stove, set inside a beautiful stone fireplace. There is also a rocking chair by the back door where you can sit and read. The kitchen is compact but bright and well-equipped, accessed from the porch which is handy for removing muddy walking boots. It also has a dining table and beautiful Welsh dresser. Outside is a large lawn where the kids can run around and play, while you enjoy a refreshing drink on the swing seat. A fantastic base for outdoors enthusiasts visiting the Wye Valley! The lovely village of English Bicknor, situated on the westerly edge of the Royal Forest of Dean and lying within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is one of the ancient villages of the forest, situated at the top of a hill overlooking the valley, and once the site of an ancient motte and bailey castle, the remnants of which can still be seen. The villages of English Bicknor and nearby Symonds Yat are steeped in the history of this fascinating area and offer visitors a vast range of activities and landscapes.
