About this property

Sandsfoot House is a detached house sitting proudly adjacent to Sandsfoot castle and gardens enjoying beautiful sea views.

Offering all the space you need with its separate sitting and dining rooms in this traditional family house means you can spread out, have some quiet time or watch TV or play games at the table. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare wonderful family meals.

This bright and generous house is comfortably equipped, and only a brisk 10-minute walk from Brewers Quay and the Old Harbour in Weymouth, where you will find numerous local cafes, pubs, restaurants and Weymouth's Award-winning Georgian Seafront and beach.

Located in the favoured area of Old Castle, this wonderful house enjoys stunning sea views from every window on the front of the house. Being adjacent to Sandsfoot Castle and Gardens, its enviable position means you can enjoy your seaside location from the moment you arrive. Sandsfoot beach is moments' away from the front door, and the Rodwell trail, part of the South West Coastal Path, runs behind the house, giving perfect access to this enticing walk, in one direction it takes you towards Chesil beach and Portland and in the other direction it takes you to town.

If you want to travel further afield, the Sealife Centre, Monkey world and The Tank Museum all offer exciting days out. Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the Isle of Portland all offer stunning scenery. All of these days out are within a 30-minute drive.

Cove Castle is the locals favourite beach area, sitting along side the Rodwell trail area, Cove Castle Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from it’s gently sloping shoreline. CoveCastle and Sandsfoot beach sit side by side, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only a 15-20 minute walk from the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Cove Castle and Sandsfoot beaches are it.

The holiday was to celebrate my son’s 40th birthday and it all worked well. The beds are very comfortable and so a good night’s sleep was assured. The garden could do with a tidy up and maybe remove the broken barrel. The park opposite was great for my 2 year old grandson to run around in and it’s worth mentioning the kiosk that serves food and drinks and a lovely ice cream. So good that we had one most days. Loads of places to visit all within a short drive and plenty of opportunities for a good walk. The Weymouth land train is a must for a short site seeing tour. All in all, great accommodation and a fantastic place to explore.

Our four year old granddaughter had a wonderful time on the beach below the house, as did the dogs, and Weymouth itself is a child's paradise. The adults enjoyed it too - very good places to eat, especially Rockfish, The Catch by the harbour and The Crab House Cafe on Chesil beach. The Rodwell Trail behind the house is brilliant for scootering but it took about 40 minutes to walk into town not 15 as in the visitors book.

I'm not overweight and felt it could go at any moment. A new bench might be a good idea so that full advantage can be taken of the view on a sunny day. The views were stunning from this property, we have stayed on this road before and know Weymouth well so knew what to expect, it's in a lovely location with access to 2 small beaches as well. We were 4 generations of a family on this trip and we would all stay again. Great to have parking for 2 cars and a suntrap back garden. Nothing to complain about at all, that says alot! :-)
