A spacious cottage with 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6. Within 29 steps of the sea, and within a short walk of several beaches and coves
Sea Shell Cottage offers great accommodation in the heart of the highly desirable Brewers Quay area of Weymouth.
The cottage has been furbished to an exceptional standard, achieving a finish which offers all the conveniences of modern living whilst retaining the original character of the property. Outside there is a suntrap courtyard area, with furniture, offering the ideal environment for dining al fresco on a warm summers evening.
Once the site of a victorian brewery, the cobbled streets and paved courtyards beside the old harbour, known as Brewers Quay, have been transformed into a cosmopolitan shopping village.
The area is home to a selection of shops housing arts & craft items, speciality food stores and gift shops. Here you will also find a range of attractions including Weymouth Museum and Timewalk, a fascinating journey through Weymouth’s colourful history.
Brewers Quay is also home to a fine range of eateries, from cakes and pastries at the Courtyard Restaurant, to traditional pub food and ales at the Excise House Pub, there really are gastronomic options to suit all tastes and appetites.
The Esplanade is within a few minutes walk and offers a picture postcard seaside setting with the golden sands of Weymouth Beach flanked by shops selling traditional beach fayre such as ice creams, fish and chips and buckets and spades.
Nearby, the shallow waters of Weymouth Bay provide fantastic conditions for kite surfing, wind surfing and sailing. This area also played host to a series of major sailing events in the 2012 Olympics.
There is so much more in the area for those who prefer to keep their feet on dry land ,from crazy golf to go karts, the area is home to a fantastic range of attractions to entertain the whole family.
For those in search of culture, Portland Castle is nearby and is considered to be one of King Henry VII’s finest coastal forts. Hardy’s Cottage, the former home of Thomas Hardy, remains largely unchanged from the time Thomas lived there and is where he wrote, Under the Greenwood Tree and Far from the Madding Crowd.
