Lime Cottage was built in the 1850s and has now had a total renovation. With a luxurious bathroom, stylish galley kitchen and touches such as local quarried stone fireplaces, the owners of Lime Cottage have spent considerable time ensuring the property is a contemporary home from home. Located on the Isle of Portland which is home to the National Sailing Academy, this is the perfect place for lovers of water sports, climbing and nature. Portland's coastal path takes you right round the island, passing the mainstay quarries that have made it world famous for its stone (St Paul's Cathedral in London is made from it). En route you can take in Portland Bill where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse then come down for a revitalising cream tea or maybe a locally caught crab sandwich and also don't forget to explore the many hidden coves and inlets dotted along the way. The major seaside resort of Weymouth with its traditional family attractions is an easy drive or bus journey away.

Really comfortable, well equipped cottage. The patio is sunny, the log burner cosy, the bathroom is luxurious. The owners have a great collection of books and games. We had a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed the coastal walks and visited Portland Museum and the lighthouse. It was very peaceful. Thanks. Stayed April 2016

Beautiful house and so clean and welcoming we felt at home instantly. Many thanks to the owners for their welcome despite our delayed travel. Would highly recommend this cottage and the week has inspired us to want to come back to Dorset again next year!! Stayed August 2015

This is a perfect holiday cottage, fully up to date and yet still retaining heaps of old Portland charm. It has been simply and elegantly furnished. And the owners are friendly and helpful and genuinely nice people. If you want to relax, this is the place to come.Stayed July 2015
