Uplands is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, homely feel, and beautiful location. The presence of friendly hosts and a variety of farm animals adds to the charm. While some guests found the beds firm and the decor dated, the spacious accommodation and stunning views from the balcony are consistently appreciated. The property serves as a peaceful retreat and a good base for exploring the local area.
Guests consistently mention the cleanliness of the property, describing it as clean, tidy, and well-maintained, which indicates a high standard of cleanliness.
The location is frequently highlighted as great, with beautiful views, nearby walks, and proximity to local attractions. Some guests wished for closer amenities, but overall the location is highly regarded.
Comfort receives positive remarks for spaciousness and homeliness, but some guests found the beds to be quite firm. The balance of opinions suggests a good level of comfort with some room for improvement.
Facilities are generally seen as adequate and even roomy, but several guests noted that some aspects are dated or tired. Maintenance issues like blunt knives and the need for updates in some areas slightly lower the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Our recent visit left much to be desired, but there were some positives. There is plenty of instant hot water and the bed was comfortable, so it was somewhere to sleep. On the downside, the property is tired and lacking some basic cleanliness. There were plenty of cobwebs showing a lack of dusting. I know it's the countryside but we live in a country village and don't have cobwebs everywhere. Although the bed was comfortable, I wish we hadn't removed the duvet cover and pillowcases before we left, the staining on the protectors wasn't pleasant. The biggest issue however was the smell of stale cigarette smoke rising up the stairs. When I mentioned it to Suellen, she said she didn't know why as they don't smoke downstairs, but it was horrible. Finally, the dogs downstairs are noisy and set off other dogs in neighbouring houses during the night, so not very peaceful.
