Perched in a hidden valley beneath Eggardon Hill, nestled within the unspoilt village of Powerstock, sit Bridge Cottage and Spring Cottage, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests in two adjacent cottages.

Powerstock is abundant with pretty stone cottages, a Norman church and has two reputable village pubs serving local Dorset produce which are just a short stroll away. There are numerous footpaths – in land and coastal, and several iron age forts (including Maiden Castle) to explore.

This part of south west Dorset is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the surrounding countryside with its myriad of narrow country lanes and deep valleys offer far reaching views from the hill tops to a beautiful stretch of the West Dorset coastline. A spectacular stretch of World Heritage Jurassic Coastline is within easy driving distance, encompassing Lyme Regis (famous rockpools and fossils), Charmouth (good sandy beach), West Bay (sea fishing off the pier and beach), and Abbotsbury (Chesil Beach, swannery and subtropical gardens). The county town of Dorchester is about 10 miles away, while more locally, the market town of Bridport is just 4 miles away.

These two stone cottages, ideal for a family get together, stand quietly by a bridge, their gardens extending down to a small river (the River Mangerton), offering a very comfortable base from which to explore on foot or cycle the deep valleys and hills of this unspoilt part of south west Dorset. From the side of the gardens there is immediate access onto a footpath, taking visitors across the owners’ farmland, grazed by their beef and dairy cattle, as part of a beautiful five mile circular walk.
