About this property

Couples and families love Rosemary Cottage for its period character, comfortable interiors and tranquil rural location. The two-bedroom holiday cottage sleeps four people and is one of five self-catering properties at Chideock Grange Holiday Cottages. There is no passing traffic, and guests have direct access to footpaths and cycling routes leading to the beach at Seatown, Symondsbury and Colmer's Hill. The South West Coast Footpath is another wonderful option, giving plenty of ways to enjoy this stunning landscape. Spend happy days outdoors, discover the Jurassic Coast's delights, and explore places like Dorchester and Bridport. There is something to appeal to everyone in every season.

Rosemary Cottage has everything you could wish for in a self-catering holiday home in North Chideock in Dorset, including fantastic footpaths and cycling routes from the doorstep. The pretty stone cottage was once a barn on a 17th-century farm but is now a welcoming holiday cottage accommodating four people in two bedrooms. It's a stone's throw from the River Winniford and has direct access to Hell Lane, one of Dorset's ancient and beautiful holloways. You can book Rosemary Cottage with one of four other holiday cottages on-site to accommodate extended families or friends on holiday together.

North Chideock appeals to visitors who enjoy walking, mountain biking and being outdoors in beautiful locations with amazing views. The quiet rural hamlet is surrounded by farmland and has no through roads, so there is no passing traffic to mar the peace and tranquillity. Walk or cycle along ancient holloways to the beach at Seatown or the Symondsbury Estate and Colmer's Hill. The South West Coast Path is a favourite with walkers but, with miles of footpaths, bridleways, and cycling routes, you have plenty of choices to suit your mood.

Rosemary Cottage is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Conservation Area that safeguards the unspoiled beauty of the area for everyone to enjoy. It is also close to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site - an incredible coastal landscape displaying 185 million years of the Earth's history with sights including Durdle Door, the Isle of Portland and Lulworth Cove. Charmouth and Lyme Regis, four and seven miles from the cottage, are two of the best places in the entire country for finding fossils. Visit their local museums to find out more about responsible fossil hunting or to arrange a guided tour.

Local attractions include Portland Bill, Cloud's Hill and the Tank Museum at Bovington, Dorchester's boutiques and specialist museums, Abbotsbury Swannery and Gardens, and Monkey World. You don't need to wait for summer to enjoy a wonderful holiday in West Dorset. There is always something to see and do, and Rosemary Cottage welcomes guests all year round.
