Chideock is a small town situated in Dorset where you will be able to dine in the local pubs and stock up on essentials at nearby convenience stores before taking to the variety of countryside walks available. When visiting Dorset, a day out to the beach is a must, the closest being Seatown Beach where you can enjoy a stroll amongst the salty air or even head a little further to the well-known Charmouth Beach and search for fossils. Indulge in the history of the local area with a day out to Bridport Museum or one of the local historical sites, including Marshwood Manor. Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at Greystones Cottage.

The pretty village of Chideock (pronounced Chiddick) can be found straddling the main A35 road between Bridport and Honiton, in glorious West Dorset. Many of the quaint cottages lining the road are constructed of cob and the honey-coloured local sandstone. Lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the area has plenty of lovely walks, whilst just 1 mile away is Dorset's Jurassic Coast, famed for its fossils and ease of finding them, where a walk along the coastal path affords spectacular views across the sparkling waters of Lyme Bay towards Portland, Chisel beach and the Devon coast. A short drive east takes you to the ancient rope-making town of Bridport, and the harbour at West Bay, or venture west to visit the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis. An excellent holiday base from which to explore this scenic area.

Maybe as the property being on the market the upkeep, maintenance inside and out has been neglected? Shame about modern bathrooms not in keeping with the character of the property

The woodburner a Godsend, once we had found somewhere to buy logs … an initial supply would have been a nice touch, along with a small welcome hamper of local biscuits say, and some milk. (One previous cottage we have stayed in - even provided dog biscuits!) The all around garden aka woods very lovely, and wildlife in abundance. In summer, I can imagine Greystones being glorious!

We had a lovely few days with my Parents. The Anchor pub and the beach at Seatown was a 20 min walk away and we were very close to Lyme, Charmouth & West Bay. Lots of footpaths v close by to walk the dogs. Trees- The house is quite dark, poss due to lots of overgrown trees but also the weather at this time of year didn’t help. We couldn’t use the garden due to the weather, but I think it would be lovely in the dry/Summer. Driveway - the info regarding the access to the driveway is correct in that its only suitable for med sized cars. We had a Honda CRV and a Peugeot SUV and managed absolutely fine. Heating - this was v high and the radiators were in a ‘locked’ state so couldn’t be adjusted so some info about how to reduce them in the info pack would have been useful. Roof Leak - there is a tracking roof leak in the kitchen, which leaked quite a lot due to the amount of rain-looks likes its been there a while so would have been useful to have this info with details of when it is being addressed.
