West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating. Visits the homes on Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, The Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! It is an amazing location with excellent views of the harbour and sea. It was lovely to have a welcome pack this year, which included a few basics and a couple of little luxuries. The lounge area furniture has been replaced and is a bit more comfortable and we could tell there has been a bit of refurb . We have previously used the ground floor entrance by the cafe, but the door key code would not work (we were told by a resident it hasn't for a while and they use a key) so we used the car park entrance at all times.

However, we were disappointed we had to clean the majority of the windows to see them - having said that the patio doors had been done, which is a pity because the views were one of the features which attracted us. The main issue was the seating in the lounge area was very uncomfortable which made it hard to relax. There was also no welcome pack (a small milk would have been nice having just travelled 280 miles to find the local shops closed) and nothing in the welcome folder to show how the heating and TV worked which was frustrating. All in all we enjoyed our stay but sadly will not be returning because of the issues mentioned. Reading others comments it seems there is a common theme which really could do with being sorted out.

Very well equipped. However there were no instruction manuals for any of the appliances. This would have helped a great deal. We could not get the main tv to respond to the remote after the tv had been on for a while. The weather was very bad during our stay, high winds and rain and as the lounge seating was so uncomfortable we ended up coming home early.
