When bedtime calls, take your pick from the king-size with en-suite shower room and the twin, offering the ultimate in flexibility. To complete the accommodation there is a stylish family bathroom. Outside, the balconies to the front and rear really open up the apartment and the elevated position means the views are far-reaching and simply mesmerising. This is the perfect place to spend some time, soaking up any sunshine, taking in the views and really getting into the holiday mood. Head out into delightful village of West Bay known as the gateway to the famous Jurassic Coastline making it the ideal starting point for discovering the Jurassic history of the region. West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating. Visits the homes on Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, The Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, the lovely sub-tropical gardens and swannery at Abbotsbury, or the golden sands of Weymouth. This wonderful location makes an ideal base for a great family holiday.

    However, there is one annoying problem: the key pad on the block entrance: the car park side is not responding correctly; and is very difficult to gain entry. The “1” key is the problem, using a mobility scooter takes away the option to use the other door. We weren’t aware of this problem last September.

    Large bed mattress needs turning and a four slice toaster would round things of nicely.Those things aside great place to stay and if the owners want me to pop down for a free weekend, I’ll rectify the niggles and chuck in a toaster.

    Other than that, it’s a lovely apartment. Rather concerned though, that on arrival one of the four balcony chairs was unusable due to a broken leg. That was DANGEROUS. No warning was given - and this is why I have not given my usual 5 stars.
