About this property

This inviting property occupies an idyllic setting within the peaceful Marshwood Vale. It's a wonderful choice for walkers and those seeking a relaxing break, whilst being close to many popular attractions.

Set within a rural hamlet in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the rolling countryside surrounding this property is of particular note. Local landmarks include Pilsdon Pen and Lewesdon Hill, which are the two highest hills in Dorset and attract many walkers. Lovers of history can explore the Iron Age Ramparts of Lambert s Castle Hill and Hardown Hill. Also within 7 miles are many attractions lining the Jurassic Coast, including Lyme Regis with its charming picture postcard streets and cobb harbour, Charmouth, which is a haven for fossil hunters, Seatown, West Bay, Burton Bradstock and Eype. A good range of amenities are available in Beaminster, and Bridport with a thriving weekly Saturday market, both within 7 miles, or visit the bakery in Broadwindsor, 3 miles. From the roadside, an entrance door with a storm porch opens into a cosy lounge with wood burner and TV. Take the step down into the compact kitchen/diner, which is where you will first see the breathtaking views that this property enjoys. This room has a galley style kitchen along one wall, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge with an ice compartment. There is space to dine just opposite and a further lobby area leading to the bathroom. Here you will find a hand held shower over the bath and WC. Head back into the lounge and up the steep and narrow cottage style stairs to the first floor (care is to be taken). There are two pretty bedrooms to choose from, a twin set to the front of the cottage and a room perfect for children, with a single bed and bunk beds. This room has wonderful countryside views. Patio doors lead from the kitchen onto a small patio terrace enclosed by a low stone wall and railings to the top, making the most of the spectacular views over the Marshwood Vale and beyond that, towards Golden Cap and the sea. There is furniture perfect for al fresco dining. To the front of the property is a roadside parking space suitable for one car, or a compact space to the side of the property.
