Arrive at this exquisite abode, which is next to the owner’s home but enjoys its privacy and enter via the hall to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Make a cup of tea in the kitchen to enjoy with the tasty Dorset lardy cake you have bought on a recent excursion and find you have all the equipment you need to prepare delicious dinners for two. Have a candle-lit meal together before wandering over to the sofa to relax and perhaps watch a film on the Smart TV. As night falls, climb the staircase up to the king-size bedroom, with its gallery-style entrance and en-suite shower room. Spend as much time as possible out in the delightful, riverside garden. Sit out on the deck, light the BBQ and keep an eye out for kingfishers as you open a bottle of fizz. There is parking for one car at the cottage.

Pack a picnic and head 5.5 miles down to picturesque Lulworth Cove on the coast. This renowned Dorset beauty spot is a superb place to swim, snorkel and bask in the sunshine. The natural limestone arch of Durdle Door, 6 miles away, is another magnificent place to spend time on the Jurassic Coast. Have a day out in Weymouth, 14 miles away, to amble round the independent shops, choose between a variety of eateries and while away a few hours on the sandy beach.
