Thomas Hardy’s Cottage can be found just outside Dorchester around 12 miles from Wool and offers an interesting day out. Some of Purbeck’s most loved attractions are also on the doorstep of Wool, with the Tank Museum, Clouds Hill, the home of Lawrence of Arabia and Monkey World rescue centre.
