The Old Barn in Swanage, Dorset, is a spacious and well-maintained property, appreciated for its cleanliness, ample parking, and proximity to local attractions. Guests enjoy the charming setting, the view of steam trains, and the thoughtful touches like a dog water bowl and homemade cake. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
The majority of guests found The Old Barn to be exceptionally clean, with only a few isolated comments about full bins on arrival and the need for vacuuming due to a damaged sofa. The high standard of cleanliness contributes to the property's appeal.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful, central to many places of interest, and ideal for exploring Dorset. The proximity to Swanage, Corfe Castle, and the beach, as well as the delight of watching steam trains, makes it a hit with guests.
Guests find The Old Barn comfortable and spacious, suitable for large families and multi-generational stays. Some concerns about furniture condition and a suggestion for an enclosed garden for pets slightly affect the comfort score.
The property is well-equipped, with a special mention of the kitchen and dining areas. However, some guests noted the need for additional items and repairs, such as a working oven, updated sofa, and larger fridge, which suggests room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Thoughtful gestures like a homemade cake and a dog water bowl are warmly received, although it's important to note that such gifts are not guaranteed. The attention to detail in providing a comfortable stay is evident, despite some feedback on the need for child safety features.

Very spacious, fully equipped with everything you could ask for and the location was great. We enjoyed our stay at The Barn and would return again albeit no dogs are allowed now since our last booking. The only slight thing that let us down was the TV signal was very poor and being in Autumn we had evenings in the barn with the kids, there were plenty of DVDs to use though. All round a great place to stay.

The property is beautiful, comfortable and situated in an ideal location. Our grandchildren thought it was wonderful to be so close to the steam trains passing by. The magnificent coastal scenery, Corfe Castle, and there is so much more to explore locally. We would say it was one of the best properties we have stayed in over many years and certainly will return. A very big thank you to the owners.
