About this property

Russett Cottage is situated in the heart of the historic, and iconic village of Corfe Castle, offering generous accommodation, and opportunities for fun and adventures all around the Isle of Purbeck.

Russett Cottage is a beautiful, cobbed cottage, made from local Purbeck stone. With an open-fire in the sitting room, and a wood burning stove in the dining room, this well-appointed and cosy cottage is the perfect retreat for all seasons. The cottage is located just a stone's throw from the village square and the iconic Corfe Castle itself. The village is one of the most popular and photographed in Dorset, and was beloved by famous author Enid Blyton and the setting for her Famous Five Adventures. Steam and diesel trains can be viewed passing by the edge of the village on the tracks that run from nearby Swanage to Norden.

This stylish cottage is decorated and furnished with contemporary furnishings, and in a homely style, and boasts character features throughout. On the ground floor you will find a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of room to prepare wholesome meals and snacks, and has a feature blue Aga. The spacious open-plan layout of the kitchen offers an adjoining informal breakfast bar seating up to four guests, and a two seater sofa with television, creating a snug area. The separate main sitting room offers a generous amount of soft seating for relaxing with the family and cosying up by the open fire, also offering access to the rear garden. You will find additional soft seating in the dining and garden room, along with an extendable dining table seating up to ten guests, and an additional wood burning stove.

A utility room and a cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation, and stairs lead you up to the first floor where you will find two spacious king-size bedrooms, one of which includes an en-suite shower room, plus a twin bedroom and a family bathroom.

French doors lead to the rear garden, from the dining room, onto a walled patio made from local stone, with garden furniture seating up to six guests, and a parasol. Additional garden chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue ensure that all of the family can find somewhere nice to sit when relaxing in the garden. The large lawn offers ample space for outdoor family games, sun bathing during the summer months and stunning views of Corfe Castle.

The accomodation is very generous throughout and family friendly, and offers the perfect setting for enjoying fun times together, and creating special memories.
