Set in a secluded Dorset meadow alongside a brook, Mukota is a beautifully rustic safari tent with bundles of quirks, making it a fun and different environmentally friendly place for a family adventure.

What Mukota lacks in size, it definitely makes up for in eccentricity. The smallest of three magnificent safari tents, Mukota is named after a Zimbabwean fine breed of pig and Africa is hinted at throughout. The open-plan living space, complete with wood burning stove and African inspired furniture is the perfect place to relax. The bespoke fitted kitchen, built with care by a local craftsman, has everything you need to rustle up a feast using some of the fabulous local produce and the wood-fired oven is supplemented by a gas hob for those hot summer days – there’s even a fridge-freezer.

One of the details that makes Mukota really stand out is its funky bathroom. This unique space has been imaginatively converted from a horse trailer, and comes complete with a shower, WC and basin. No need to traipse outside though - the bathroom is easily accessed via the back porch. The living space leads out onto the deck - the perfect place to relax on the sun-loungers with a book and listen to the brook running by. It’s also the ideal lookout to keep an eye on the little ones when they are exploring during the long summer evenings. The sheltered area outside the tent has a firepit - great for cooking on as well as keeping you warm if the evening gets a little chilly. After a long day exploring, snuggling down could not be more comfortable, with a cosy king-size bed and a further twin bedroom.

There is hot water throughout and electric lighting in the living space and bathroom. The bedrooms are lit by battery powered lanterns and there are USB ports for those that need to charge a phone. Eco products are supplied, as well as extra blankets, towels, hot water bottles and games.

Mukota prides itself on being environmentally friendly and the site has been a finalist for awards such as The Dorset Environmental Award and BV Dairy Investing in Dorset Award. There is a flower farm, an Italian inspired cafe and shop also to enjoy at the farm.

For a large get together Mukota can be booked with Gascon and Murciano.

Additional Information:

Two dogs are accepted at the site for a small additional charge.

There are hampers available, as well as cooked meals which can be arranged on booking.

There is no wifi, but 4G is good on site. Wifi can be arranged upon request in an office space for those who need to work.

Cot and highchair are available on request

Inside:

Kitchen

Fridge freezer, sink with hot running water, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, wood-fired oven, gas hob, essentials like tea, coffee, salt, pepper provided as well as tea towels and washing up liquid.

Living Area

Wood burning stove and fireguard (initial fuel provided), sofa, coffee table, dining table and chairs. Extra blankets, hot water bottles, USB port for charging essentials.

Shower room

Basin and shower with a separate WC. Hot running water and heated towel rail. Towels provided as well as local eco hand and body wash.

Bedroom one

King-size wooden bed, storage space, bedding provided

Bedroom two

Twin single beds, bedside table, bedding provided.

Outside:

Firepit/barbecue and decking with outdoor table and chairs (initial fuel provided, extra can be purchased)

There is parking for one car at the bottom of the meadow where the tents are situated - any more cars can park in the farm yard.
