About this property

This semi-detached barn conversion is one of a pair of high-quality holiday cottages sitting on an organic farm, and on the site of a former medieval village, with outstanding views of the surrounding Blackmore Vale.

With stunning views for many miles across the Blackmore Vale, this attractive timber-clad, semi-detached converted barn offers stylish and contemporary accommodation. Tallet Barn East sits in a wonderful setting on an organic farm, atop a deserted medieval village, now a Scheduled Monument. The light and airy accommodation includes a double height kitchen with separate dining area, and a comfortable living space with sofas, television, a well-stocked bookcase and sliding glass doors. There is also a ground floor family shower room, and on the first floor, a separate cloakroom, a king-size bedroom with balcony window and a twin bedroom completes the contemporary accommodation.

Located at the end of a farm track to Darknoll Farm, the property is within walking distance of Okeford Fitzpaine village centre with its village shop, church and pub. Just three miles away is the popular market town of Sturminster Newton with its shops, cafes, mill and museum, and there are numerous quaint Dorset villages within easy reach. From the front door of the property there are opportunities for enjoyable walks across the surrounding fields and footpaths, and with the Wessex Ridgeway on your doorstep, you are spoilt for choice. Hambledon Hill Iron Age Hill Fort and its neighbour Hod Hill are definitely worth a visit and afford outstanding views across three counties.

Guests are invited to play tennis, badminton, volleyball or football on site by booking some time at the neighbouring private all-weather sports barn. For those wishing to explore further afield, the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach, with the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove being particular favourites.

For larger groups, Tallet Barn East can be booked together with Tallet Barn West, accommodating eight guests.
