Immaculately presented, this peaceful luxury property has a lot to commend it. The views acrossBulborough Hill and over the Blackmore Vale and way beyond are absolutely outstanding. You can watch the sun come up and go down. It's privacy is ensured by a flower-covered embankment and gabion from the other properties and the impact from the farm is limited to a few tractors going up and down the lane. Two reasons I can only give it 4-stars: firstly, it may be architect designed but style has come over function - e.g. no shelves/drawers in the master bedroom, stylish but unusable bedroom sinks, storage cupboards in the bedroom that need a ladder to access, shower/bath that is polished metal and a slip hazard. Secondly, Yes - it has a ground source heat pump, sedum roof and its own sewage digester but you cannot claim Eco credentials with a bath big enough to dry-dock the Titanic, unnecessary electronics and a wood-burning hot tub. However, stick with the luxury tag and its a great place to stay, with a very good pub 30-minutes walk away (best steak I have ever eaten), lots to see within a bicycle ride away on quiet roads (but you need to be either fit or have an electric bike). Beautiful part of Dorset within reach of the coast but avoid A-roads at commuting times. If in Dorchester there is a good range of restaurants around Brewery Square.
